I just saw an accident so i am curious.
Please answer. What happens to deers after they get hit by a car?
annoying sarcastic people love sitting here and writing funny things..
In some citys they have a local branch or some sort of the government come by and pick up road kill once every couple of days..if this did not happen, there would be festering animal carcass all over the roads..hope this not sarcastic answer helped. What happens to deers after they get hit by a car?
They die instantly.
Or, they hit your car headfirst, cause massive damage, barf all over your paint for good measure, then get up and run away and live a ';long'; life.
Or, they hit your car, fall over unconsious, you come over to look at them, and they kick you in the stomach before waking up and running off, leaving you to painfully keel over (don't go near a deer you just hit)
Or, they get up, and run away with your license place in their ribcage, and die a few hundred feet from the roadside.
Or, they get up, and run away with your license place in their ribcage, and live a long healthy life.
If the deer dies on the roadside, some townships pick up the carcas and compost it.
Then again, some other rural areas pick up the deer and have it for dinner.
I hit a deer back in January, and I do not know whatever happened to the deer. I hope that I killed it, because I don't want to think that it was in pain or anything like that.
I guess it all depends on a few factors:
1. What type of car are you driving?
2. How fast did you hit the deer?
3. Where did you hit the deer? (Head on? Hit it's side? etc)
Here in the country u can be put on a list to be called by the police to go pick it up and dress it out if it is fresh kill. Otherwise the county picks it up and dumps it on farmers fields for fertilizer.
It depends on how hard they were hit. They usually die shortly after. You should report it to a local vet. They might be able to save the deer.
If they die.... sometimes they are given to people for food who need them or want them. BTW, it's 1 deer, 2 deer, 123 deer, 127,000 deer.
Incinerator or dog food.
They die.

What do i need to enroll my wife in deers?
I am newly married and on active duty. My wife is living in another state. How do I enroll her in deers? What documents do I need? What documents does she need to get an ID made back home? What do i need to enroll my wife in deers?
her social security card, the marriage certificate and a picture ID.
of course since you are not together she you actually cannot get the ID nor can she get an ID card.. so you need a DD Form 1172 filled out and sent to her so she can get her ID..What do i need to enroll my wife in deers?
You need the original or certified copy of the marriage certificate, her original or certified copy of her SSN card. They might require a birth certificate but not always. If you are in separate states and have separate bank accounts you can set up an allotment to her account each month on the 1st.
Once she is in deers she is enrolled into Tricare Standard. With this there is a yearly deductible and a co-pay per visit. She will then need either a Specific POA or Form DD1172 to get her ID from the closest base or reserve center. She can then change to Prime, enroll in United Concordia, use base facilities, etc...
Here's the website for deers:
http://tricare.mil/mybenefit/ProfileFilt鈥?/a>
Just go there. If you have any more questions just call DEERS:1(800)538-9552
you will need your marriage certificate,,,her social security card,,and her birth certificate. you will receive paperwork back that will allow her to get her ID.

I wonder how many US citizens watch films such as U-571, Saving Private Ryan, and the Deer Hunter and...?
...assume the films to factually correct? I always wondered why Americans always seemed to be so ignorant of the world around them and its history-now I know. It's because Hollywood supplies them with all the ';facts'; they needI wonder how many US citizens watch films such as U-571, Saving Private Ryan, and the Deer Hunter and...?
many americans readily believe in most ( not all) of the things fed to them as it's part of their culture to accept that they are always being taught correctly and America is simply the greatest ever nation and swear to the flag etc. many other countries also think of their way of life as the 'only' real and truthful way of life.
by being immersed in so much 'official' and accepted stories they will easily accept without judgement most things offered.
It is not just america whom has this issue. many will believe all they are shown on TV and in most films as factual simply because they are brought up to 'trust' the official offerings of that organisation.
history is always written by teh victor for example and real truths are buried along with the dead.I wonder how many US citizens watch films such as U-571, Saving Private Ryan, and the Deer Hunter and...?
All three of the films you mentioned were fictional. Nobody ever claimed they were true.
Let's compare this to the crockumentaries of Michael Moore, who purports his films to be true, and yet are filled with lie after lie after lie.
I always wondered why leftists always seemed to be so ignorant of the world around them and its history- now I know. It's because they can't tell fact from fiction and believe the kind of nonsense spouted by halfwits like Michael Moore and Sean Penn.
I can't speak for all these films you've listed, But I can speak for the film private Ryan, And confirm that it is very close to being accurate, I know history and people who were there when much of what portrayed in that film happened. The problem isn't with Americans ignorance, But rather your wanting to rewrite history to suit your own beliefs and or agenda . God bless.
The film U571 got a lot ridiculing in the British press because it is a blatant lie it was not US forces that captured a German sub but a Royal Navy Warship, it was reported in the British press that many US WWII vets (the real men who fought, not actors) who saw the film got up and left in disgust because many thought that it ridiculed America.
The world owes America a great debt for their liberty and freedom that is not fully understood and appreciated, but these kinds of films that portray America as all conquering without reference to other nations that took part fighting evil in WWII does not do America any favours today.
I too am dismayed at people who watch movies, blithely, happily unaware that the movie is just riddled with historical inaccuracies.
I'm especially irritated at how we transform certain events into comic book-style tales of good vs evil. Hence, I was happily surprised to see the the new Tom Cruise (one of my least favorite actors) movie doesn't show all Nazis like they are foaming at the mouth and ready to disembowel puppy doggies for fun.
If we don't recognize the good and bad in things like the Nazi regime, we won't learn any lessons about what really made it ultimately evil, nor what elements of it were quite redeemable and commendable.
I have no problem with historical fiction as long as i know what it is. I take no movies to seriously unless it claims to be a documentary and none of the above were ever promoted as such. I'm more irritated that people listen to your dribble and think it's anywhere near accurate. Now THAT'S a lark!
waaaaay too many people. the majority of people I know actually ';learn'; from commercials. It drives me to the point of insanity how easily people just endroctrinate themselves because they just take everything as fact!!
The point that is driving me made right now is the Corn Refiners of America commercials regarding high fructose corn syrup. I seeth with anger when one of those come on.
Why would anyone think any of those movies was factually correct ?
They were not documentaries.
They were movies.
Do you really think people believed thier are space aliens driving taxi cabs in NYC, because they showed them in MNB ?
or that ET came to earth and lived with a 8 yr old ?
What is your Question?
Did these things actually Happen?
Or is it more Hollywood HYpe?
Did Apocalypse now happen? How about Full Metal Jacket?
These Movies awere the way that the Writer saw things during times of a war and by writing them came to grips with in the Words of Marlan Brando in Apocalypse Now '; The Horror,The Horror'; of war.
If I had my way people with such a greed for money who are prepared to sell their country down the river by openly supporting the terrorist enemy, should be put down as traitors. They have absolutely no patriotism and are prepared to sell their souls to the highest bidder.
Probably the same percentage ( but probably not the same pool) of people who accept what Rush Limbaugh says as the truth.
Actually. 1066, 1492, 1588, 1776, 1815, Dec 7, 1943. is about all we are taught in history class. Or at least all we didn't sleep through.
Kind of like how when people watch ';documentaries' like Fahrenheit 911, and Bowling for columbine and assume that they are factually correct instead of edited to project the political and social views of Michael Moore.
i don't know about the other ones but Private Ryan was a good story. I don't really qualify as an American cuz i am an immigrant so i guess that is why i didn't take it literally.
sadly, many do.
good movie though lolz
Those are fiction. BUT in researching Saving Private Ryan, Hanks came upon the true story of Major Winters and ';E company'; and made ';band of Brothers';. I highly seeing that recommend that.
I watched Saving Private Ryan, not the other ones yet. I watch movies for entertainment not for fact gathering. Movies may have some truths in them but that is the least of my worries when watching movies.
interesting question. I don't think just Americans are ignorant to the world around them it is everyone in the world who is ignorant of the world around them. just like you
I don't assume anything made by Hollywood to be factual correct. Its entertainment pure and simple. The last time I saw a movie that came close was Tora,Tora,Tora. And even then some things were not totally correct.
Americans are idiots??? You pompous a@@!!!!! You chose to leave your homeland and go live in Australia and chose NOT to stay and defend your own country. Now who is the idiot?
I was tuning my 1968 Les Paul Custom Sunburst and missed the meaning of your question. I guess you are saying we Americans get our history from movies. Maybe so but the rift of Pride and Joy by SRV is a little more important right now.
Well ya no us dum asz Amrikans cant tel trut frmo realte an ever bodi els is jst so wa mor smertr thn we is aniwa, and we should be listening to an entirely and apparently deliberately misinformed dckhead because?.
Wrong. Hollywood does make movies based on real events, but most people realize that the storylines and a lot of events in the movies are fiction.
Get real Timmy. You just asked another question that stated Farenheit 911 and Syriana as intelligent films. That says a lot, as does this one.
Those are works of historical fiction, not non-fiction. I would hope most people would be able to differentiate between the two.
More people watched the Lord of the Rings and got the same quality of information.
Anyone that uses a movie as a historical reference...is retarded....regardless of their nationality.
Well the scene at the end of Saving Private Ryan sure ain't fake - there were that many deaths that were a result of WWII.
they are movies ,are we not suppose to watch them or something??
are we ignorant becuase we watch movies?
that is a new one from here wow
who you calling ignorant? their just movies.
Just like religion, movies allow people to sit back and have life dictated for them.
hahahh.. sorry, not me..
saving private ryan is a good movie though.
you're bitter.

Pls does anyone know who wrote or sang this song, but here are some lines ';as the deer panteth for the water';?
It's the opening lines from the 42nd Psalm, and King David supposedly fashioned them.
The Latin ';tag'; for this psalm is ';Sicut cervus.'; There have been many settings, I'm sure, but the one by Palestrina is done a lot.
There's also a gorgeous setting by Herbert Howells called ';Like as the hart.';Pls does anyone know who wrote or sang this song, but here are some lines ';as the deer panteth for the water';?
It's from Psalms 42, so I'm not really sure who wrote it. Lots of people have used it in song over the centuries.

Why are white tailed deer threatened?
i need the answer a.s.a.p!!!Why are white tailed deer threatened?
They're beginning to be threatened, as usually happens when a population grows out of control.
For decades, they've had few or no natural predators, causing their numbers to balloon. As a result, nature steps in, and chronic wasting disease is now spreading.
Their natural habitat is also quickly shrinking, so that they're being forced into suburban, and even urban situations, resulting in more deer being struck by vehicles than in the past.
In some states, season and per-day hunting limits have been increased because area deer populations are growing at an alarming rate.
Hope this helps! Why are white tailed deer threatened?
White deer arnt, not by us. In the state of wisconsin, there are 1.5 million dear..
White tail deer are at risk for getting a ton of diseases like Cronic Wasting Disease which has a high infection rate when deer are clustered together. And when they have masses of deer, like 1.5 million, there are going to be noses touching.
Though, they are not going to die off anytime soon.
Well, for one, they're hunted. Secondly, we're cutting down forest to accommodate the human population growth; therefore making it harder for them to survive because they're pushed out of their habitat.
Lets put it this way- the existence of us is affecting them xD
But in many places, there's a lot of them to begin with so I'm not so sure if they really are in danger o.O
Are you kidding? The population of whitetail deer has soared in the past century. There are now over 29 million whitetail deer living in the US.
They are classified ';least concern'; by the IUCN, and are not listed as endangered or threatened under the US Endangered Species Act.
They aren't. Estimates are that there are more in the United States than in the time of the colonies.
because i am hungry.hair brush

Do a web search for the publisher of the game and contact their help line. You'll probably get help over the phone or online. Try FAQ sections too.

I hit a deer in 2002 trans am, it has $9300 in damages. Is it considered totaled?
Fair market value is ?18,375 My payoff is $13,685
Will I get difference?I hit a deer in 2002 trans am, it has $9300 in damages. Is it considered totaled?
This is not your decision. Usually an insurance adjuster will make this decision for you. If there is no frame damage then i cant see why it ont be repaired. The car will probably never be the same a year or 2 down the road. My advice is to do what the insaurance says to do, if they fix it, then put it up for sale and recoup what you can. Look for another vehicle in the meantime or trade it in for a new car.
PS.. What happened to the deer to get $9300 in damage? Was the deer totalled?I hit a deer in 2002 trans am, it has $9300 in damages. Is it considered totaled?
both are totaled
Are you asking if the deer or the trans am is totalled???
probably not totaled. it is worth almost twice what it would cost to fix it.
For your car to be totaled, the repair price must exceed the amount the car is worth. Since it does not, your car is not totaled.
If both airbags deployed it will be considered totaled...if the repair is more than half the cars value the insurance will usually total the car...the insurance company will give you the difference but make sure what the car is sellinf for in your neck of the woods and if it is seloling for more you can fight it out and tell them to hand the rest of the cash over...but don't settle for less, most insurance companies try to low ball you and try to pay off the least amount of money
If they don't total it. Get rid of the car as fast as you can. That much damage and it is never be the same.
How many miles on the odometer...?
you'll prolly get the 18,000
if you ask me i say u sell the parts that sill work to a dealer ship and save that other money and use that money from the parts and most likely some of your own to get a new car
if it costs half the price of the car to fix it then dont waste the money. buy a new car. you wont be making anything. youll just be losing a car.
It is not totalled. They will repair it.
yea thats half the price of the car no point in keeping it get a new one
depends how much the cars worth
if its worth less then yes
if more then no
Poor deer.

Question about buying deer hunting land?
my dad and grandpa were wondering if anyone knew how much some people charge for an acre in north louisiana? please helpQuestion about buying deer hunting land?
We are paying a little over $6 an acre to lease land from Roy .O Martin timber company. But I feel they are one of the highest in the state to lease from. And unfortunately land is sky high due to the demand for good hunting land. Your best bet is to locate an area that you would like to own a little land in. Then go to the courthouse and find out the names of the owners by looking at the land tracts. Then contact those that have land holdings in the areas that you would like to own. Some may be willing to sell all or part of their holdings. To find out what is available for leasing, you just need to find out the names of the local timber companies in your part of the state and go to their website. They will have all the available leases listed and a map and brief description of them, plus their location. And the price per acre will be on the website. Some of the timber companies in north La.- Roy.O Martin, T.L. James, International, Boise-Cascade,and Weyanhauser (misspelled the last one) Good luck!Question about buying deer hunting land?
Tyler, if you're serious about buying or leasing land, call a realtor in the area you think you would like to hunt and ask them. They will know if there are any leases available and the price, as well as what land is selling for per acre. Be prepared for a shock at the prices you're quoted.
Hope you mean ';per acre'; and not just 1 acre.
Land is getting scarce near the cities, but out in the country, cut-over land sells for about $400-600 per acre.
Unless you are buying a lot......then down to about $200.
WOW!! I should move to La. In western Oklahoma its $1,000-$1200 per acre to buy and $12-$15 to lease just for hunting.

Okay, theres a deer in my backyard!?
I don't know how it got there!!! I didn't know there were deers around here! what should i do? it was just standing there and then it layed down and slept! what should I do!? haha, this is so weird!Okay, theres a deer in my backyard!?
let it see you again?
plan on having venison for dinner?
unusual that it laid down.
could indicate that it's sick or old or still quite young.
bad idea to make friends.
they're really afraid, but if you corner them, they will attack you.
they have very sharp hooves, and can do serious damage.
if it just sees you, it'll try quite hard to leave.
you want it to know you're around, but you don't want to corner it.
it's not the brightest bulb on the tree.Okay, theres a deer in my backyard!?
Nothing dear. Enjoy watching from afar. They are timid animals unless threatened. They are so beautiful. I see them frequently running or standing in fields on my way to work. I truly enjoy the sight of them. They are part of the wonderful creation we belong to. Jehovah has such an eye for beauty and I think deer are among the most beautiful. Enjoy them while you can in wild. The day will be soon that we can enjoy them up close and personal, so to speak.
I wouldn't worry about it (unless it is foaming at the mouth or is behaving really strange then call animal control). I have a lot of deer in my yard and they just eat grass look at you, eat some more and skip about. They don't come up close to you, they usually run away.
If you live in the city, you might call animal control. They might take care of it like a stray dog or cat.
If you live very far in the country, a friend or hunter might shoot it, and share the meat with you.
In between, you may wish to go out and scare it off. Some people feed them (corn).
Oh, just leave it alone.
People are probably destroying where it used to live and it's trying to find somewhere else to live.
It's just a deer, it won't eat you.
It won't make its new home in your back yard.
Now that it's gone it probably won't come back.
avoid the area where it bedded down for a week or 2. deer ticks carry lime disease %26amp; you wont notice their embedded in your skin until a few days after they get on you.
Cool..
Take a picture of it next time..
Don't scare it, maybe it will start
coming back more..
that's cool. you should have went to make friends.
is it called BAMBI?
shoot it. ill go by n eat ithair brush

Hunters...deer season opens in Wi today. Where do you get deer urine?
I just came back from Wisconsin and they are all excited about the start of deer hunting season. I know hunters use deer urine to mask their ';human'; smell. Where do they get it? Do you buy a ';chemical'; deer pee, do you follow one around with a beaker or do you get it from the dead deer you shoot? This is a genuine curiosity that my colleagues and I kicked around all week. Since none of us are hunters, we couldn't come up with a satisfactory answer.Hunters...deer season opens in Wi today. Where do you get deer urine?
You buy it at a sporting goods store, most here in Montana carry it.
A friend of mine here in Mt is a deer and elk urine supplier (Cabnet Mountain Outfitters), they have domestic whitetail deer and elk.
What they do is put them in stalls with a cement floor and a drain that goes down to a container, they have several stalls, then they give them food and water, and a pill, I think its like a water pill that makes them urinate.
The most interesting part is the doe in heat or cow in heat, they follow the same procedure, but the pill is replaced with an estrogen pill which makes them go into heat.
So then it is bottled and shipped.
Hunters like me may spend $50.00 to $100.00 per season on different urine's.Hunters...deer season opens in Wi today. Where do you get deer urine?
Yeah, these guys get stupid over hunting up here....usually Doe estrus can be purchased at any sportsman type shop.
at any sportman shop
From Wi here, you buy it in a sporting goods store.
a pro shop
It can be purchased at most sporting goods stores, and it usually comes in a small 3-6 oz bottle.
Its a good question where those companies get there urine and how do they do that is the question.
it is better to roll in a deers piss then put it on directly .so follow a deer around untill it pees then roll in it then go hunting .
any sporting good store should have it!! or youcan follow a deer and hope you get lucky and put a cup under when they go!!!

my dog has deep poop on his paws and is really gross and dirty... i'm babysitting my sister at home and my parents are away. i don't feel like giving him a bath. should i just put him in his crate? do you have an suggestions? My dog has deer poop on his paws and...?
he'll be fine. just leave him out for a little bit more and he'll run the poop off or he'll probably just lick it off! haha or call ur parents and tell them how ur dog has sh*t on its paw and tell them ull clean it up if u get moneyMy dog has deer poop on his paws and...?
das sad
poor puppy!
give him a bath!!
Baby wipes or even paper towel w/ some water and soap will help.
Deer poop like goats and rabbits. Your dog doesn't have deer poop on it's paws. Deer poop is like B.B.'s. Not easy getting that to stick to paws to the point where you need to bathe him.
I live in Ohio. I guarantee you I will see at LEAST 8 deer on the way home tonight.
These people need to get out of the city dont they?? Deer get mushy poop too it always doesnt stay like rabbit poop so YES dogs can get it on their feet and some dogs like to roll in it and EAT IT as well. Give the girl a break, city slickers. Just spray him with the hose and dry off his feet with a dirty towell and put him in his crate to finish drying off.
How do you know it is deer poop? That is quite specific. Strange. Put him outside.
My Goodness!
Deer poop or Deep poop are both nasty.
Just put him in a warm water bathtub and
put on rubber gloves and soap his feet up
with antibacterial soap and scrub away.
Rinse his feet well and dry them off.
It should take care of it.
You sister will be extremely grateful, trust me! : )
wipe it out with toilet tissue and flush it and if there are any paper towels clean them further you can put him into a tub with some water enough to cover his paws and swish his paws around
i have no clue what u should do but maybe u should use the hose to get the poop off. it's better than nothing
Your babysitting and you cant even handle cleaning the dogs paws??? what a shame
Just take a wet rag and wipe his feet. (then wash your hands after)
You are so lazy and nice-nasty!!! Clean that mess up, girl!!!
How would you like it if YOU had poop on your hands and you weren't able to clean it up?
Well you could wash him good with a rag.. u dont have to wash his whole body... TRY TO TAKE OFF AS MUCH AS U CAN.... THen when u think ur done just put him in the bathtub let his feet soak and the poop will wash away... then u should put him in his crate and let him rest if u dont like this idea go here:Ted is 14 years old, and his life has been turned inside out. He's confused, befuddled, probably more than a little scared. He's been living quietly with an older woman in Condon for several years, but she died last week, leaving Ted homeless.
Until Monday, that is. Ted - at first glance, Renee Stowe guesses him to be a Bichon Frise-poodle cross - has been brought to Paws Up Safe Home, a sort of homemade Humane Society at Seeley Lake.
Except at Paws Up, he does not face a possible death sentence if nobody wants him. Stowe and her Paws Up partner, Seeley Realtor Elinor Williamson, will take care of Ted for as long as it takes to find him a good home.
';He needs a quiet home,'; Stowe decides as Ted waddles around in circles with a puzzled look on his face. He's come with his own fluffy bed, a sack full of toys and a container full of food.
But on the other side of a fence, behind the front door, out on a porch, 15 more dogs can't wait to check out this new arrival at Paws Up. Big dogs. Little ones. Old ones. Young ones. Black, red, yellow, brown, white - every color under the canine rainbow - are excitedly eyeing the little white dog.
Like we said, Ted's life is about to be turned inside out. Stowe carries Ted into her house and puts him in a portable kennel, where he's safe from the other dogs, but they can sniff around him and start to get used to him.
It's up in the air whether Ted will get used to them.
Even if he does, he's still got one more animal to deal with: Fairbanks.
The man found the little kitten, no more than six inches long, laying in a ditch, frozen stiff. He couldn't bear to leave it there, so he stuffed it in a pocket and took it home to bury it.
When he got home, his pocket meowed.
Not knowing what else to do - he lived in a rental that didn't allow pets - the man took the cold, scrawny little kitten to Paws Up, where Stowe nursed him back to health. Now, the tiny kitten is a huge, long-haired white cat - Fairbanks, by name, also known as ';the ghost'; - who leaps from counter to table to chair and back again, ignoring a half-dozen dogs below.
Maggie, an older black lab, has had enough of Fairbanks. She takes after the cat, barking and growling. Fairbanks swings around and gives Maggie a ';you want a piece of this?'; glare. The lab pulls up, snarling, but goes no closer. The cat doesn't retreat.
';He has no fear of dogs,'; Stowe says of Fairbanks. ';Sometimes I think as pretty as he is, is as stupid as he is.';
Stowe, ironically, is allergic to cats, but couldn't part with Fairbanks, the cat who came back from the dead.
';I take an antihistamine,'; she says. ';Unfortunately, a bunch of cats and there isn't enough antihistamine in the world.';
But Paws Up doesn't turn its back on felines. Outside of Fairbanks, they're just relegated to the ';cattery'; in the basement, leaving the dogs with the run of the house.
Since Paws Up opened its doors less than four years ago, some 80 cats have been taken in, and 215 dogs. (This doesn't count the cats and dogs that board at Paws Up; on Monday, a little less than half the dogs there were strays or pets ';relinquished'; by their owners). Some of the Paws Up dogs have been here more than once, but they aren't counted again. Once they get a number, they keep it for life. Stowe and Williamson take pictures, record data, make posters to put up around town, try to reunite a lost animal with its old family, or unite the animal and a new family if it was unwanted.
Dog No. 1 is still here, nearly four years later. Zeke, a Golden Retriever, was the first dog Stowe gave shelter to and the first one she adopted out.
To herself.
Williamson had taken in Zeke, a stray, but hadn't been able to find him a home.
';I'd been rescuing dogs for a few years before I met Renee,'; says Williamson, who moved to Seeley 20 years ago from the Billings area. ';But trying to do real estate too, was just too much.';
Stowe came in 1997, from Spanaway, Wash., a Tacoma suburb, after retiring from retail management.
';I told Elinor if she ever had trouble finding a place to keep a dog until she could place it, she could call me,'; Stowe says.
';I kind of suckered her into it,'; Williamson admits. She asked Stowe if she would take in Zeke in 1998.
';I picked up the dog and fell in love with him,'; Stowe says. ';A few days later I got asked to baby sit another dog, and next thing I knew I had 17,000 dogs.';
Stowe's log home in the middle of a Seeley Lake neighborhood wasn't equipped to handle dogs, but the town has pitched in with donations of money, labor and material so that local strays and unwanted pets will have a place to go. Now the back half of Stowe's two city lots are fenced. Inside the main fence are three more areas that are fenced off. One protects a couple of trees they're trying to grow to give the dogs shaded areas - it's also used to give smaller dogs like Ted a place to play outdoors without interference from the larger ones. Another, on one side of the house, is a ';poop area.'; A third area houses the half dozen or so kennels, which are all covered by permanent tents that provide shade in the summer and protection from rain and snow the rest of the year. Plastic pipes crisscross the ground here, housing wiring to heat water dishes in the winter.
Ramps run up both sides of the house, giving dogs access to the yard and front and side doors. The only place the dogs can't get to is a tiny yard of grass out front that Stowe calls her own.
All dogs and cats brought to Paws Up who don't have names get one from Stowe. A dog that came in on April 15 is now ';Refund.'; The cats, for reasons she doesn't quite understand, are all named after cities and towns.
';I guess maybe I ran out of cat names,'; Stowe says.
There's Fairbanks, the one that arrived thawed out and Stowe adopted. Then, there was Boston, which arrived perfectly warm and was adopted by Williamson, who promptly tried to freeze her.
Well, not on purpose.
';I have a side-by-side refrigerator-freezer,'; Williamson says, ';and I was making a rhubarb pie. Well, I had the freezer open, getting something off the top shelf, and I had some salmon frozen on the bottom shelf. Now, this cat - you can't open a drawer or cupboard without her jumping in - and the cat just walked in on the bottom shelf. I never even noticed, and shut the door. Thank God I heard this 'Mrrrrr' and started looking around.';
There is much work to be done at Paws Up, and Williamson, who started rescuing pets years ago, now says all the credit goes to Stowe, who has literally let her house go to the dogs.
';Renee deserves all the credit,'; she says.
But Stowe says the community has made it possible; notes that the local 4-H Club shows up year-round to help brush and groom the dogs, scoop up poop, clean water bowls, sweep up kennels, play with the animals. Come summertime, wading pools will appear in the yard so the dogs can cool off.
At 9 o'clock every night, year-round, virtually every dog at Paws Up heads inside Stowe's home - only big unneutered males stay outside - and each gets their own pillow to sleep on. During the summer of 2000, that meant 27 dogs in her kitchen, dining room and living room. It was the bad forest fire season, and worried landowners had brought their pets to Paws Up for safekeeping.
It is into this world that nervous little Ted has arrived. If all goes well - and it seems that it often does at Paws Up - the day will come when Stowe and Williamson will find a new home for Ted.
And, to tell the truth, he may not want to leave.
are you for real your going to ask what you should do. wipe it off. and they left you alone.
let him run around in the snow
make ur little sister clean it off or make the dog walk around outside!! lol
The responsible thing to do is bath him. Won't hurt you. Would you like to be stuck with poop on you all day? I would think not!
YOU are really bored...huh?
Just clean it off!!!!
He's YOUR dog, and YOUR responsibility.
I think you should take a towel or paper towels and wet them and clean his feet. If you put him back in his crate his feet will smell really gross
how to u know its deer poop?
deep poop?
hahahaah
use warm water an a wash cloth. or just wash his paw.
Of course, the best solution would be wash it off. But I understand if you don't want to do that. I'd say leave him outside with food and some toys until your parents get back. If you do decide to wash it off, use gloves and it will make it a lot easier and less messy!
do your dog a favor and give him a bath. Don't just lock him away.
aww take care of your dog and give him a bath!
clean him up. Do you want to go to bed with poop on your hand?
wash it off, just a quick little rinse
how do you know what deer poop looks like?
wash him dont let him get dirty
if the kid you were babysitting got fecies on him/her, would you just put it to bed?
clean the dog. don't stink up the place.
haha just put in her crate and when everything is settle get a wet towl and rub that s h it off
he'll be fine. just leave him out for a little bit more and he'll run the poop off or he'll probably just lick it off! haha or call ur parents and tell them how ur dog has sh*t on its paw and tell them ull clean it up if u get moneyMy dog has deer poop on his paws and...?

';I'd been rescuing dogs for a few years before I met Renee,'; says Williamson, who moved to Seeley 20 years ago from the Billings area. ';But trying to do real estate too, was just too much.';
Stowe came in 1997, from Spanaway, Wash., a Tacoma suburb, after retiring from retail management.
';I told Elinor if she ever had trouble finding a place to keep a dog until she could place it, she could call me,'; Stowe says.
';I kind of suckered her into it,'; Williamson admits. She asked Stowe if she would take in Zeke in 1998.
';I picked up the dog and fell in love with him,'; Stowe says. ';A few days later I got asked to baby sit another dog, and next thing I knew I had 17,000 dogs.';
';I have a side-by-side refrigerator-freezer,'; Williamson says, ';and I was making a rhubarb pie. Well, I had the freezer open, getting something off the top shelf, and I had some salmon frozen on the bottom shelf. Now, this cat - you can't open a drawer or cupboard without her jumping in - and the cat just walked in on the bottom shelf. I never even noticed, and shut the door. Thank God I heard this 'Mrrrrr' and started looking around.';
Do you want to go to bed with poop on your hand?
wash it off, just a quick little rinse
how do you know what deer poop looks like?
wash him dont let him get dirty
if the kid you were babysitting got fecies on him/her, would you just put it to bed?
clean the dog. don't stink up the place.
haha just put in her crate and when everything is settle get a wet towl and rub that s h it off
Can i freeze deer hide before the tanning process?
Absolutely! When I trapped with my dad we froze lots of hides to sell to the tanner. Can i freeze deer hide before the tanning process?
Don't leave it frozen for more than a year. After that long they get freezer burned and won't turn out. they just fall apart.
Can i freeze deer hide before the tanning process?
I'd say yes.I've never done it,but I had a fish frozen for a week or so before getting it to the taxidermist.

Do u think deer are mean or playful?
deer are wild animals. some people think they can raise them as pets and that they are cute. wild animals have stronger survival instincts than domesticated animals such as cows. deer can be playful, or mean, but they will protect themselves at all costs. they may act tame if they are raised by humans, but any wild creature will follow thier instincts in most stressful situations. you just have to be careful around wild animals. even if they were raised by hand.Do u think deer are mean or playful?
playful..we shouldnt hunt them... unless on equal fields lolDo u think deer are mean or playful?
Both
idk but they r so cute!!!
It depends on whether they are socialized. I know soneone who raised one since it was a baby and them and their dog played with it.

Would you be happy in a home where the Buffalo's roam and the deer and the antelope play?
Sure would, that would be the life.Would you be happy in a home where the Buffalo's roam and the deer and the antelope play?
i don't quite follow you , in terms of 'where is this in the song' ...but er, yeah - it sounds so rural and in tune with nature, almost therapeutic a stark contrast to the hustle bustle of the cosmopolitan life I live.
I'd enjoy living amongst those animals providing I didn't get attacked by a buffalo.
I'd actualy prefer living in the wild, amongst lions, hyenas, crocadiles, rhinos, elephants...i so wanna go on safari now lolWould you be happy in a home where the Buffalo's roam and the deer and the antelope play?
Funny, I was just singing that the other day. I want a home out in the country. I'm not sure I want such big ';pets.'; Deer would be great, though. I wish I had found out who the artist of this one painting was. It was this gorgeous scene of a cottage set in the woods with a deer drinking from a stream. When I saw it I knew I wanted to live somewhere like that.

Hi!
It is the first line of the first verse! in the song
';Home On The Range';!
It begins: ';Oh, give me a home, where the
buffalo roam, and the skies are not cloudy or gray...';
Americans know it as well as their National Anthem!
I am happy here: home; home on the range! I live in Arizona.
(Where ';seldom is heard, a discouraging word';.) }:%26gt;
I can't think of a good answer. I just wanted to post to increase my cyber-carbon footprint and to tell you know that I loved your question. I have a sick sense of humor. For some reason, this struck me as hilarious and one of the coolest questions I've seen on here.
I don't know, I'm more of a city girl. I would appreciate seldom hearing a discouraging word. And I'm sure that home on the range would be a nice place to visit, but I don't think I could live there all the time.
I suppose I might like it....and I *really* like the idea of living somewhere ';where seldom is heard a discouraging word, and the skies are not cloudy all day';.
Oh yes, I could live there no problem.....my only neighbours animals? I can't think of anything more wonderful.
Where seldom is heard a discouraging word and the skies are not cloudy or grey. x
It depends what the deer and antelope are playing...5-card draw? 7-card stud?
I could do without stepping in buffalo crap.
Yes, I would be happy, since I love nature. However, I wouldn't let them into my home, they would have to stay outside.
I live there - it's called TEXAS! And yes I am very happy here!
As long as there was seldom heard a discouraging word, and the skies were not cloudy or grey.
No, I prefer the stinking and polluted city life.
Home On The Range....NO
HOME IN THE SUBURBS, CLOSE TO THE CITY WHERE NO BUFFALO ARE ROAMING, THATS MY STYLE!
That's one messy carpet!!
Yes
Can we shop there?
yes if i am a hunter
they'd make a right mess of the carpets.

What are some of the favorite foods for deer ????
most any grains if your talking dry feed. they will eat most any veggie you plant. just try getting a crop of peas in deer country. we plant wheat and oat food plots and scatter corn around. What are some of the favorite foods for deer ????
Find a persimmon tree before it gets any later in the season. Also another favorite of my grandfather's is to throw alot of paw-paws around where you like to feed the deer. That's the stuffWhat are some of the favorite foods for deer ????
deer corn, carrots and some type of herb that I planted in the summer they love it well when it was there
pretty much anything you grow in your garden that you dont want them to eat
tulips
plums
beets
swiss chard
sunflowers......
trying to bait them for hunting season??? Thats not fair:)
A field of corn!
in the fall my family sometimes puts out apples by our woods and then once we rake up the acorns from our yard we usually put those in a pile for them too
Dried corn, also called feed corn. However, if you live in an area where there is also black bear, they will come %26amp; feast too, so if you do it, be careful where you do it. You don't want to turn an innocent bear into a nuisance bear that has to be shot or relocated. Bear do not cause problems unless you invite them to.
I fed the deer in my backyard, %26amp; soon found very large scat (poop) I was inadverdantly feeding bear too. I dumped the rest of it deep in the woods where they would all be faraway from my house. The deer still came to the yard to munch grass, %26amp; rest, so it was still cool.
I Love deer ground meat and i only use the ground to make spaghetti with it and it soooooo good . when i cook spaghetti ppls love it and have no idea that they are eatin deer .lol you should try it.

What do deer eat, do they like apples?
apples? oranges? What kinds of corn do they eat? Do they eat hay?
Do they really like salt blocks? What do deer eat, do they like apples?
Most vegetation growing in our woodlands is
not deer food. Deer have very selective food habits
and eat only a small percentage of the plants present.
Plants can be classed as “preferred,” “common,”
or “emergency” food sources for deer. Preferred
plants are the most nutritious and are heavily
eaten or “browsed” when available. Common food
species are browsed during shortages of more nutritious
food plants, and heavy browsing of emergency
food plants indicates that deer are possibly
too plentiful in an area for the amount of
food available.
Types Of Food Plants
Woody plants include trees, shrubs and vines.
Deer feed on the leaves, twigs and buds of these
plants during all seasons. With few exceptions,
woody twigs and stems are low in nutrients, and in
some of our mountain zones, the winter woods contain
little food other than a “match-stick” type diet
for deer.
Forbs refer to herbaceous plants other than
grasses. These include wildflowers or other broadleaved
“weedy” plants. This group, along with the
woody plants, provides deer with their most important
food sources.
Forbs are very nutritious, and with the low food
value of woody plants, there is no substitute for
ground vegetation such as forbs and grasses.
Several forbs provide food outside their growing
season.
Nut crops greatly benefit deer, bettering general
herd health and the winter carry-over of animals.
However, nut-growing trees don’t always produce a
bumper crop, so acorns and other nuts aren’t
always reliable food sources in our deer range.
Wild grasses are eaten when young and tender.
Where grasses are abundant after the growing season,
they help sustain the deer herd when other
foods aren’t available. Unfortunately, pasture
plantings of fescue and bermuda grass have
replaced many good native deer food plants.
Fruits are important seasonal foods with high
energy value. They are available primarily during
summer and autumn.
Crops include plantings of various cultivated
plant species. In areas wherenatural habitat or
quality browse is limited, they are an important
food source.

Yes, deer like apples. And they need salt. Sometimes, in the winter, after salt trucks have gone through, you may see deer licking the road. This is in order to get the salt. They need this mineral to survive. It is a good idea to keep salt licks for them. Deer like corn, and they will eat hay. The park where we live have a lot of deer. We all keep plenty of salt, apples, corn and hay for them. If a winter is especially bad, deer have been known to eat the bark of the trees if nothing else is available. The deer that come into our park will eat birdseed right out of the bird feeders. So yes, deer like apples, hay, salt blocks, corn and birdseed.
Not a good idea. If you are living in the United States, I suggest you don't encourage feeding the deer. They are overpopulated right now so instead you should leave out gum. Yes, they will eat it and they will not be able to digest it so they will die from constipation.
grass, hay, leaf buds, leaves, apples, pawpaws, berries, chestnuts, corn, and yes they love salt blocks. sometimes they will peel the bark off certain trees and eat that. I don't think they will eat oranges. they love to get into gardens at night and have a party.
Deer love apples - we have apple trees in our yard and ever year the deer come up to eat off them.
They would probably prefer corn that is off the cob.
Yes - they really like salt blocks ... especially flavored salt blocks. Hunting supply places have them.
they eat....... grains, veggies, grass, corn, leaves, apples, timothy hay, alfalfa, fruits, and salt blocks and most human foods. basically they would eat almost anything.
It depends on what species of deer you want to feed ! different species of deer will eat different things such as berries leaves grass some deer are grazers and some are brasers so they will all eat different things but ive never heard of a deer eating oranges before !!
Deer do like salt blocks. It has nutrients that they need. They like any kind of corn, but if purchasing use dried field corn and it can be purchased at local co-ops. Hay, not so much. They do like pears, pecans, acorns, etc.
Deer food can be found at your local feed shop. If you have a pet deer I did as well, They love apples and carrots and stuff, I run a farm and feed deer 24/7 Need any detailed or another else feel free to IM or Email me. Thanks
I'm sure they would eat apples, oranges, ect.
Not sure about what corn, probably many kinds,
I don't think they eat hay, but then again I'm no deer expert,
i think they do like salt blocks.
depends on the deer? lol(:
They sometimes eat the feces of other dear members within the pack. However when this is not available they resort to small berries and leaves. Have a nice day superman.
..
Apples, bird seed, bark from trees, any kind of corn, popcorn (these are wild deer I'm taking about from my backyard observations.)
they will eventually eat anything except meat, we had 2 plowing through tthe garbage that the racoons opened and man let me tell you they even like leftover cake , candy pieces and discarded veggies
hay, salt blocks, apples sometimes, really like the salt blocks tho
They diffently love apples.
Yes, they love apples. We have an apple tree and at any time during the night you can see deer eating the fallen apples.
as a hunter it seems that they looove acorns. Sweet things :) if you really want the good stuff go to walmart%26gt;the hunting section%26gt;then deer foods ;D
They eat Wild Berries, Apples, Corn, ...........
apples or carrots
Oranges? why would a deer eat oranges?
They love apples They love corn all kinds. They love salt blocks. Don't know about oranges or hay
they like grazing on monocotyledonous plants growing out of nutrient enhanced cow feces

grasses. These include wildflowers or other broadleaved
“weedy” plants. This group, along with the
woody plants, provides deer with their most important
food sources.
Forbs are very nutritious, and with the low food
value of woody plants, there is no substitute for
ground vegetation such as forbs and grasses.
Several forbs provide food outside their growing
season.
Nut crops greatly benefit deer, bettering general
herd health and the winter carry-over of animals.
However, nut-growing trees don’t always produce a
bumper crop, so acorns and other nuts aren’t
always reliable food sources in our deer range.
Wild grasses are eaten when young and tender.
Where grasses are abundant after the growing season,
they help sustain the deer herd when other
foods aren’t available. Unfortunately, pasture
plantings of fescue and bermuda grass have
replaced many good native deer food plants.
Fruits are important seasonal foods with high
energy value. They are available primarily during
summer and autumn.
Crops include plantings of various cultivated
plant species. In areas wherenatural habitat or
quality brows
Most vegetation growing in our woodlands is
not deer food. Deer have very selective food habits
and eat only a small percentage of the plants present.
Plants can be classed as “preferred,” “common,”
or “emergency” food sources for deer. Preferred
plants are the most nutritious and are heavily
eaten or “browsed” when available. Common food
species are browsed during shortages of more nutritious
food plants, and heavy browsing of emergency
food plants indicates that deer are possibly
too plentiful in an area for the amount of
food available.
Types Of Food Plants
Woody plants include trees, shrubs and vines.
Deer feed on the leaves, twigs and buds of these
plants during all seasons. With few exceptions,
woody twigs and stems are low in nutrients, and in
some of our mountain zones, the winter woods contain
little food other than a “match-stick” type diet
for deer.
Forbs refer to herbaceous plants other than
grasses. These include wildflowers or other broadleaved
“weedy” plants. This group, along with the
woody plants, provides deer with their most important
food sources.
Forbs are very nutritious, and with the low food
value of woody plants, there is no substitute for
ground vegetation such as forbs and grasses.

quality browse is limited, they are an important
food source.
What Do
Deer Eat?
by Carl Hunter
They love apples, I know because they come into my yard all season long for the apples, cherries and plums.
yes very much
They eat salt, hair, corn, and apples too.
Corn, apple blocks, corn %26amp; molasses blocks. They make a protein feed for them
umm they like to eat grass and yes maybe apples to yes most likely hay but salt blocks i'm not sure
Just what are you planning? Pervert.
Yeah they like those. Deer really will eat anything.. which is awesome!!

Do you think that all American Hunters - especially Deer Hunters should have to take lessons in how to aim and
shoot a gun before they receive their Hunting license?
Do they really have to use automatic machine guns like the AK47 to hunt Deer??????????Do you think that all American Hunters - especially Deer Hunters should have to take lessons in how to aim and
Hunter safety courses are mandatory in many states and I think they are great. They really make a difference. But as far as the 2nd part of your question, I would have to say you are mis-informed. An AK 47 that is fully automatic can not legally be used for hunting and can only be owned under the strictest of guidelines by qualified owners. A semi-automatic version is available to hunters but with a 5 round magazine. i don't understand why you would be opposed to that model since you seem concerned about hunters hitting their targets, they are lightweight, accurate and the caliber is comparable to the 30-30 round in ballistics. Being a semi-auto it puts more shots on a target which is a huge plus when shooting at a running object such as a deer. Personally, I would prefer seeing a hunter use it as compared to a 30-30 since it needs no levering to chamber another round which may cause a hunter to misss and risk injuring an animal. If you really want to prevent animal suffering, support a ban on Bow hunting. Ever see what a mis-placed arrow does to a whitetail? It's cruel and inhumane to say the least.Do you think that all American Hunters - especially Deer Hunters should have to take lessons in how to aim and
You made false accusations and instead of owning up to it you say something about bows and arrows. wikipedia gave two definitions. I gotta vent. I can take arrogance I can take ignorance but together is too much
You are a prime example of the saying ';Children should be seen, not heard'; especially uneducated one like YOU!
Specially when said children show their INCREDIBLE IGNORANCE! You'd think they wouldn't WANT to embarass themselves so!
so why did you make an *** out of yourself amazon? I know more about hunting than you EVER will. I know know a helluva lot more about assualt weapons, handguns, automatic weapons, exlposives and it goes on. YOU are out of your league little brat now go pout in the corner and blow off.
HEY ';ZYBERWHATEVER';! YOU SURE DO KNOW A LOT! YOU CAN'T EVEN USE ';SPELL CHECK';, MUCH LESS SPELL ';ASSAULT';!
LOL! THE ONLY *** I SEE BEGINS WITH ';Z';. ARE YOU DYSLEXIC, OR JUST STUPID?! YOU CAN'T EVEN SPELL!(OR USE SPELL CHECK!) LOL!
Hey ';Zyber';! Grow yourself a pair, then join the Army! G.W. and Uncle Sam NEEDS Idiots like YOU!
Mr.';Zyber';,
Having just read your answer page, are you old enough to even BUY a gun? Aren't you really a virgin?
In many states they have to get a hunting safety course certificate before getting a hunting license. This is the case in NC for hunters who did not have a license prior to 1990 or so. The course does not teach you how to aim with an actual gun, but you do learn the importance of watching your background and basics of safely hunting and handling a weapon. I believe the course may also cover appropriate calibers and weapons for game.
First of all, the ';AK-47'; rifles that 99.9% of civilians have are semi-auto (not automatic machine guns) and many only look like AK-47s. The AK-47 round is a 7.62x39 in most guns. It is not a preferred round for hunting, but is okay for some game.
At this point, most states require a hunter's safety course be taken by people born after the 1970's or 1980's (depending on the state) unless you are military or former military.
I have no idea if all courses require live fire training, but I know the one I took (Wisconsin) back in 1986 or do did, but it wasn't enough to show any level of competence (we got 5 shots with a shotgun at a clay pigeon and about 5 shots with a 22 rimfire at stationary targets).
Should a hunter be required to show a level of competence? It would be nice. Personally, I think the state governments should open up a bunch of free shooting ranges so people can practice, but the only state I know of that has done that is Alaska (and I only know if the one in Juneau, I have no idea if there is more). In a perfect world, I think a hunter should have to show proof of having their weapon of choice sighted in each season to get a license or tag.
However, we are not in fantesy land. Shooting ranges cost money to operate and maintain and no one has the time to verify if millions upon millions of hunters went to the range every year. Still, I have spent enough time in the woods to know to be weary of the other hunters. I often wonder if they can hit it in the first shot, what makes them think they'll hit it with shot 7.
As for the AK-47, it is very difficult to even possess a full-auto weapon in America (requires a special license, ATF approval, and random searches of your home to ensure proper security measures). Every state I have hunted in outright bans hunting with full-auto weapons. As for the cartridge that most semi-auto AKs use, the 7.62x39mm, there is nothing wrong with the cartridge for hunting. It would be far from my first choice, but it would work for shorter range hunting up to deer sized game.
I have not done a survey state-by-state, but in ND, OH, PA, MT, and i think the other half-dozen states I have lived in, lessons of some sort are required. They are usually based on the NRA hunter safetey course and are fairly rigorous.
The average motorist is more dangerous.
Hunting season comes once a year, lasts for a short period of time. Road rage season lasts all year.
It is illegal to use a fully automatic ';machine gun'; to hunt deer, and if there are any cases where someone has done so, it is a rare act indeed.
Semi-automatic Kalashnikov-based rifles are good for deer, but lack the accuracy at longer range. I would not use one for Mule deer or for shots over 200 yard on White tail.
';It is better to be silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.';
First the ar-15 was a civilian gun before military. Therefore not designed to kill en masse. It is not legal to hunt deer with a machine gun. The ar-15 is has superb accuracy. That is why it is used to shoot prairie dogs.
There were rifles at the time of the signing of the constitution. Most hunting was done with rifles not muskets. That is besides the point the founders did not write the second amendment for hunters. It was to prevent a tyrannical government. Read the federalist papers.
9/11 was done with box cutters not rifles.
Ar-15 came before the m-16
Those of you using the phrase assault rifle. Can you define the term?
Some of you are confidently ignorant. Really I think if you study the issue you will decide that civilians owning arms reduces genocides (for examples look up deacons of defense and who stopped the Rawanda massacre, it wasn't the U.N.) and crime. Look at what has happened to violent crime in Britain since the gun bans look at what happened to the amount of gun crime in Britain since the gun bans. Also look at Lott's study or the study by the CDC. I have really delved into this data. What I have found is that Brady campaign and others are very likely to lie and the NRA, GOA are not.
Lies work only so long as people don't find out the truth
Yes, I agree with the hunters safety course.
An AK-47 would not be my firearm of choice when deerhunting. I prefer a 30-06 or a 30-30
woah woah woah buddy. ever hear of hunters education courses? ever hear of responsible people who go to the range and learn how to shoot before they even think about going hunting? ak47's can be used as a hunting rifle yes but its not on full auto. your hunting for meat and sport not just for killing's sake. your not going out there and spraying bullets. you try and kill your prey quickly so they don't have to suffer and you can find it after it dies. thats the point in hunting.
yes i wish we would have to show our ability's to hit a animal in the proper spot and be able to properly clean the game to get a hunting lic.
Maybe so some of them pratice before they go hunting
Let's stop with all the laws! We are law happy in our country. If people would just act civilized we could keep the politicians and the government out of lives.
First off the you sound like a gun control advocate. For the record I believe in the 2nd amendment whole heartedly. Citizens should have a right to personal self defense and the defense of their family. Please read your history about countries who instated gun control on their citizens. Stalin. Hitler, and others used the same arguments as we hear today for gun control. Gun conrol has always been a key component of socilism and fascism. I will always beware of the government who doesn't want its citizens to have the ability to defend itself.
We wouldn't need all of these laws if people acted responsibly and those that didn't would receive the justice that the laws state. However, the legal system has failed us. Just look at the criminals that get to walk or get out early for negligent and ruthless behavior (not just with guns). The root problem of violent crimes is not the gun but the person.
Obviously your concern is about saftey, as it should be. Guns can be dangerous like many other things and should be treated with respect and discretion. (cars should too but people drive like maniacs without a second thought. Do you ever speed in that 1,000 lb piece of machinery? Just for kicks look up % of car deaths vs # of cars in the country. Then look up % of gun deaths vs # of guns owned). There are already gun safety courses people have to take and registration processes as well.
I think in general I am sensitive to this issue because it is a symptom of something beyond guns. Politicians have sold people on laws for ';our safety'; and people have been eating it up. What we fail to notice is the little slice of freedom we lose every time a new law goes on the books. If we keep going at this rate you will have to live in a bubble not to break a law.
I would rather have my freedoms %26amp; trust in people than trust the government to decide what is best for me.
I bet soon enough there will be restrictions on red meat. People will have a cholesterol intake limit and they can only use the BBQ grill twice a month to limit their carbon footprint. Thanks Al Gore. (If he hadn't invented the internet I would never forgive him for his global warming scam to make himself rich - please read about his companies before you get tweaked)
If I have to choose between living in a world of ';safety'; laws and freedom. I'll take freedom. Besides, ';safety'; laws haven't made anybody more safe, just less free. Patriot Act, global warming laws ...it's all garbage. The joke's on us.
FYI - Your AK47 reference is ridiculous. Don't use the extreme example to try to prove a point. That's what fringe political nutballs use for arguments. Argue the rule not the exception.
It's absolutely AMAZING how Kiddies like ';zyberianwarrior'; and Paul B shoot their mouths off about things they know NOTHING about and wind up only shooting themselves in the BUTT!
P.S: There were a dozen AK-47 semi-auto's in the racks in the gun shop I was in Yesterday, and I could have bought any one I wanted.
so mr NRA activist (aka american citizen)...tell me why do you hunt PRAIRE DOGS with Assualt Rifles and got an outdoor network host thrown off the air for commenting against it?
The constitution written back in 17whatever was designed for the hunters using smooth bore single shot rifles our Founding fathers coudn't even IMAGINE a gun that will shoot more than three shots in a minute.
Now here we are shooting at little gophers with assualt rifles whoes original purpose was one thing and only thing only. KILL EN MAASE! There is a REASON bozo why assualt weapons are banned. I'll even give you two....COLUMBINE and 9/11.
yea yea yea guns don't kill people do, driving your car 100mph on the road is just as dangerous so why don't you use land mines to trp your quarry or even better go fishing with HANDGRENADES?????
oh and by the way while the ak-47 is a commie gun and is hard to get (at leats in the US anyway) that is probably the best overall assualt rifle out there. the M-16 gave way to the AR-15 which was a much improvement over the M-16 but that isn't as hard to get as you think.
the ar-15 was NEVER intended for civilian use it replaced a popular rifle ar-10 in the 50's. I'll conceed the M-16 phase in but the ar-15 is better.
Oh Assualt Rifle=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assau鈥?nice try.hair brush

Oh Assualt Rifle=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assau鈥?nice try.

Is veal deer meat?!?
Veal is from a young calf, venison is deer. When you cook veal, don't overcook it because it will become very tough. Is veal deer meat?!?
No, it is calf. More specifically, calves that have been kept in pens and only fed milk..........very cruel. Is veal deer meat?!?
Venison is deer meat.
Veal is calf (baby cow).
If my memory serves me right.
Veal is from a young calf that has been fed only milk.
All young calf's are fed milk for a while.
I think that the first milk from a cow that has just had a calf isn't sent to market as fresh milk.
Those kept for veal may stay on some what longer than others.
All farm animals at some time or other are caged or keep in pens.
No... veal is baby cows. Deer is Venison.
veal is baby cow
Venison is deer meat...veal is calf meat.
No, Venison is deer meat.
Veal is baby cows who've been either chained to the floor so they cannot stand/move or placed inside small boxes to limit their movement.
no
1. a calf raised for its meat, usually a milk-fed animal less than three months old.
2. the flesh of the calf as used for food.
no, it's baby cow, (calf)
veal is a baby cow and if you dont like liver and such organ meats dont try veal thats what it taste like not like steak
No veal is calf. Venison is deer meat (bambi).

Is red deer a nice place to live and raise a family?
It is. It's a small town, with all the advantages of small towns - you don't have a hour commute to get to work, housing is affordable, and you get to know your neighbors and your community.

Is BARRETT 98 Bravo .338 Lapua good for deer hunting?
?? if not tell me some gun that would b good for hunting. Is BARRETT 98 Bravo .338 Lapua good for deer hunting?
Are the deer where you live gonna shoot back? Thats like using a sledgehammer to drive a pushpin.
Have you seen how expensive those rounds are???
Get yourself a nice .30-30, .30-06 or a .270 and be like normal hunters. Well, we arent normal at all but.....Is BARRETT 98 Bravo .338 Lapua good for deer hunting?
ya sure a .338 lapua is great for killing deer but so is a atom bomb!
Sure, shell out your $4495 plus tax and ammo and set up anywhere. Any deer within a mile is fair game.
Sounds like a horrendously expensive way to go about it.
If you're not too damned lazy read a few of the questions that have already been answered. You won't get too far before your second question gets answered... probably more than a couple of times.
IOW that question has already been asked and answered to DEATH.
Yeah, good choice... if it comes with a sherpa to carry it around for you and the deer you are hunting are moose. I was going to buy one myself but I used the money to buy a house instead.
Good day!
I recommend going with something like a .308, .30-30, .270, or a .30-06. Any of these will work good for you! A .338 Lapua is a bit overkill and expensive. I'd be worried about what's beyond your target if you miss or the bullet goes through the target.
Cabela's (Canada) sells a Remington #770 for $430 with calibres ranging from .243 Win. - .300 Win. Mag. A model #700 is a step up in price and quality for $700+
Have fun hunting and great day!

too heavy to tote

For deer hunting?
Option #1 Marlin 336 in 30-30
Option #2 Remington 700 in 270 winchester
a .338 is more of a moose round than a deer round. For deer, consider the following:
Short Range ~ 12ga shot gun, 30/30, 7.62x39, .270, 7mm-08, .25-06
Medium Range ~ .270, .25-06, 7mm-08, .260, .280, .308, 7mm, 30-06
Long Range ~ 30-06, .308, 7mm Mag, .300 Mag
Yea, it would most definitely be overkill.
Why are you so hell-bent on these outrageous calibers? They're expensive, noisy, and harsh on your body.
Get a gently used .30-30.

I used to have this sweet deer hunter game but it broke and now I want a new one from ebay.
it was not a video game. It projected a small image of a deer on the wall and you shot at it with an included (fake) shotgun.
the game projector sat on the floor. the only components to the game were the gun and projector.
PLEASE WHAT IS THIS GAME?? any game you know of that matches this description would be great!!What is this deer hunter game??

I bought a deer huntin video and it takes place in late oct. and early nov. but i saw i buck flip & stab a doe?
it messed her up pretty good whyd it do it?I bought a deer huntin video and it takes place in late oct. and early nov. but i saw i buck flip %26amp; stab a doe?
ive watched that vid and the only thing i could get from seeing that part was that maybe he was mad or upset with her I bought a deer huntin video and it takes place in late oct. and early nov. but i saw i buck flip %26amp; stab a doe?
it was probably either a small buck being attacked by a bigger buck, and you couldn't see the antler of the smaller one or it was a deer with chronic wasting disease, it's still strange though.
let me know what video it is so I can see it...sounds ****ing sweet.

Estimates are that there are more in the United States than in the time of the colonies.
because i am hungry.

Name some plants that deer will avoid.?
My area is infested with deer. I have Oleander and Vitex that they won't touch but would like more color and variety. All the following have been eaten. Plum tree, marigolds, daisies, Nandina shrubs, and morning glories. And I'm not fond of any cacti.Name some plants that deer will avoid.?
Floxglove. Juniper. Holly.
This is an excellent site for finding the ';deer rating'; of a plant:
http://njaes.rutgers.edu/deerresistance/Name some plants that deer will avoid.?
This is not a plant, but if you go to the beauty shop or barber shop and collect the hair swept off the floor, you can use it as mulch and it keeps the deer away.
If you search ';deerproof plants'; you'll come up with a dozen sites with lists of them. Be aware, though, that deer will eat almost anything once, that what they eat can change by the season, and what they don't touch at your neighbour's place they might eat at your place. I've even had the same kind of plant remain untouched at one location on my property while the deer nibbled it at another location. Best you can hope for is plants they won't strip down to stalks, more than once a season anyway. Generally speaking, aromatic stuff like herbs is left alone, but almost anything with any flowers gets eaten.
Try anything with aromatic foliage (rosemary, lavendar, salvia gregrii, santolina, most herbs). The deer here in California also seem to avoid ornamental grasses, dianthus, teucrium, and anything with silver/gray foliage. Good Luck!
honest to god i havent seen any plant they wont feed on. i live practically in the mountain and they even eat some of our flowers. i would imagine there is some plant or plant they wont eat but i havent seen any yet.
All t6he answers are correct but most of the plants deer dont like are deer resistant not deer proof so they may try them anyhow

I found a dead deer under my porch?
I'm confused how did it get there, what do Ido withit?!I found a dead deer under my porch?
That is very odd. My best guess would be that a dog or wild animal drug it under there. Call animal control or the sherriff's office. (not 911)I found a dead deer under my porch?
Maybe it was sick and was resting under your porch. Then maybe it got very very sick and died there. Well, I think that you should call the animal control, let them remove its body.
Its possible it crawled there and then died. call animal control they will remove the body.
call your city hall they will be able to tell you what to do but don't touch it just let them handle it lol
I agree with everyone else on here!

One more deer question them I am done, deer summer sausage rolls, anyone?
know how to make these, my husbands buddy makes them says it takes three days to cook anyone know what this recipe is, sure would get me points with the hubbieOne more deer question them I am done, deer summer sausage rolls, anyone?
yes, I'll take one.One more deer question them I am done, deer summer sausage rolls, anyone?
Deer meat, if properly handled in the field, by a knowledgeable hunter, is superb in its original form. To ruin it by making sausage out of it is disgraceful and an outright insult to all deer. If the meat tastes so bad that you have to make sausage from it and disguise its fine taste, then your hubby is not handling the animal properly in the field and needs special education on field dressing of deer. Like all things, there is a right way, wrong way and best way to handle these animals in order to achieve perfect taste of the meat. Most hunters never have even heard of the best way.
You can buy the flavorings and mahogany skins to stuff. I am assuming you mean deer salami that would be about 2 and 3/4 inch diameter about 2 and half feet long.
If you buy a whole kit, it will cost about 18 bucks and makes about 10 3 pound sticks of salami. Having a grinder and some lean pork butt to add on a 50/50 basis with the deer is a given. You can get the kits at Cabelas.
Having a sausage/salami stuffer is even better especially if it is the high end type.Curing the sausage is done in about 2-3 hours in your oven at temps ranging from 150 -225 degrees. You may want to turn the salamis so they don't get too done in one spot. These will keep for 2 weeks in the fridge but most folks freeze them and take them out as needed. However, a frost free freezer will sooner or later '; shrink'; the salami and make it very hard since it is taking the moisture out.
Making it at home is not that hard and will end up costing about 4 dollars per stick. Good luck and enjoy.
Can't say I do but check with his buddy would be my first suggestion, if its his secret ask his wife lol, other then that the place that processes his meat will most likely have something like it. And your husband sure is a lucky fella to have his wife take up such an interest in this, if you have any twins, I will glady forward you my address.
1st: Donald S shut up, no one needs to hear your incessant ramblings or opinions of how they should eat their deer! It is personal taste.
I, like many people have many things made out of my deer, breakfast sausage, summer sausage, pepperoni ect. I get some great recipes from meat markets and game processors. Try them first, or you could google any combination of what you are looking for. Good luck.
My husband always gets this done at the meat processor. He gets sausage, jerky, bologna, summer sausage and ham along with the regular cuts.

No matter how nice i am to my 3year old deer chihuahuah she still growls at me shes very attatched to my mom?
so what can i make her do to luv me ?
and is it true the hand who feeds her she luvs more?
and my dog when ever i go to pick her up or baby her she runs why does she run?No matter how nice i am to my 3year old deer chihuahuah she still growls at me shes very attatched to my mom?
Dogs are pack animals and they probably consider you one of the pack members with whom they are in competition with for the attention of the alpha female, the leader, your mom. She is the one who provides the food, probably makes and enforces the rules and they see you as a member of the pack. They might be confused about your role in the pack since you are also lead by the pack leader but you probably also get affection not given to a normal pack member so they might be a little threatened by you. You need to establish yourself as a dominant member of the pack. You need to be firm but loving, self assured, stand up tall and speak firmly. Don't get scared or jump away as they will think that is a weakness. Get chances to feed them and try to put your smell on the food or the bowls so they understand its comign from you. If you want to learn more about how to communicate with dogs check out The Dog Whisperer either on TV or on the internet. Remember dogs aren't people, they see the world differently than us. Good luck!No matter how nice i am to my 3year old deer chihuahuah she still growls at me shes very attatched to my mom?
awww, well most dogs don't like to be picked up which is why she runs away...your right about the feeding...feed her some of the time and she'l' love you more...also play with her and use her toys
Ok,your dog is attached to your mother because she feels she is the pack leader instead of u or your mom. So to her your mom is her ';property'; n she has to protect it. If u dont walk your dog for at least 20 minutes,3 times a week then she will bahave badly because shes not physically and mentaslly excersised. And wutever you do DO NOT give her kisses or treats. ONLY reward her when she has achieved a trick or obstacle like sitting on command,im a dog phsycologist taught from ceaser millan.
and is it true the hand who feeds her she luvs more?
and my dog when ever i go to pick her up or baby her she runs why does she run?No matter how nice i am to my 3year old deer chihuahuah she still growls at me shes very attatched to my mom?
Dogs are pack animals and they probably consider you one of the pack members with whom they are in competition with for the attention of the alpha female, the leader, your mom. She is the one who provides the food, probably makes and enforces the rules and they see you as a member of the pack. They might be confused about your role in the pack since you are also lead by the pack leader but you probably also get affection not given to a normal pack member so they might be a little threatened by you. Why don't whitetail deer have kidneys?
I have field dressed(gut) hundreds if not close to a thousnd whitetails in my 25 years of hunting, they have a liver but no kidneys,i'm not the only deer hunter that has wondered this.I have no problem giving 10 points to the correct answerWhy don't whitetail deer have kidneys?
You've dressed hundreds if not thousands of deer? REALLY! And you've never seen a deers kidneys? REALLY?? I can smell the BS from here. Why don't whitetail deer have kidneys?
I hate to be one of those ';jumping on'; guys, but of course Deer have kidneys, as do all mammals. Your failure to find them does not mean they don't exist, and your claims of a thousand deer in twentyfive years mean you're either a poacher, a liar, or you work at a meat packing plant that handles deer for hunters who don't dress their own (and even that I find unbelieveable).
Because they were born without them?
ten points
The other people are just dumb. Deer with kidneys... ludicrous!!! You have shot close to 40 deer a year what do they know? Oh sure, maybe basic biology and addition. I say biology schmiology books and facts are for dorks
According to you they don't, but according to them they do.*
White-tailed deer do have kidneys. It's possible they are in a different location than you are used to, or are a different color.
Those aren't kidneys, guys. Those are 'run faster and jump like crazy' glands.
40 deer a year? What're you doing with all them? And how'd you end up with so many tags?
You must live in one of those states without a DNR or hunting laws.
But when you shoot a deer, it gets extremely surprised, and will usually have an enormous adrenaline rush. This will cause the kidney's to 'wilt' from the muscle contractions, where they will be forced down the urethral tubes and into the bladder. If you do find the kidney's, you're not shooting the deer hard enough, and your an unethical hunter. Having dressed that many deer and never having seen the kidneys, I'll bet you're a really amazing shot, and are extremely lethal.
its caused by a hormone imbalance, deer kidneys are invisible to people who masterbate too much.
Like I told you the first time you posted this Whitetail Deer DO HAVE KIDNEY's....One of the MAIN killer diseases of the Whitetail Deer population is ACIDOSIS..,A disease of the KIDNEY's.
Explain to me how they die from this disease if they DON'T have Kidneys? You are making yourself look pretty foolish insisting they don't have them.....Extensive ';experience'; or not!
I find it difficult to believe you have not seen them. Of course deer have kidneys. How in the world would a mammal process and expel fluids without kidneys?
Kidneys are located on the interior of the lower back. About were the loins end. They are usually a little pinkish colored.
As a Pharmacist, I had to take the same physiology classes as Medical Students, and all mammals have kidneys. Without kidneys any mammal will not live a week after birth.
They do have kidneys. They are usually removed with the intestines and bladder.

Any animal that urinates has kidneys. they remove the urea from the blood and it is excreted as urine.
So you've dressed hundreds if not a thousand deer in 25 years of hunting eh? This makes you a liar my friend. Deer have kidneys, 2 of them in each deer, this means you should have seen at least ONE kidney in the hundreds, if not a thousand deer you have supposedly dressed. Consider the odds of coming into direct contact with over 2000 kidneys and never seeing a single one.......
I'll jump on the bandwagon and call you a liar too. There is no way you have dressed that many deer and never seen a kidney. NO ONE likes a liar, NO ONE!
Deer have kidneys, always have, always will.
