At what age can children eat wild game? My husband goes deer hunting every now and then. Just curious.?

I'd say as long as it's prepared properly, like any other meat, then whenever they can handle meat. Small tiny pieces until they get molars. At what age can children eat wild game? My husband goes deer hunting every now and then. Just curious.?
When ever you have decided to start feeding him/her solid foods and they are capable of chewing. That is, of course, unless you choose to puree it.At what age can children eat wild game? My husband goes deer hunting every now and then. Just curious.?
Since, unfortunately, deer meat always gives me the trots...my daughter won't ever get the opportunity to experience it until she gets out on her own.
Now you made me hungry. I grew up eating wild game and fresh lake fish..didn't realize how special it was until I was no longer able to get it.

Venison..yummmm, fresh fish and quail...smacking lips...fresh morell mushrooms and cream sauce..drooollling..

I lived in paradise and didn't know it.
As long as they can eat meat at all, then it is fine. (proper hygiene is a definite need though.)
Probably after 1 year. If they can eat other meat such as beef then it should be ok.
Venison is actually better for you then store-bought beef. If your children eat store meat now, they can eat the deer that your husband brings home, too.

You're so lucky..... I would like to go hunting more often and get a deer, but I can't.
It would be like any other meat as long as it's cooked right..I love deer meat. but haven't experimented with any other game tho.
My sons are 10 months old, and I feed them deer meat as long as it is pea-sized bites. I treat it like I would ground turkey. It is lean and natural. I would treat it like all new foods you introduce.
i started my kids on it when they were able to chew meat well. i just make sure i cook it all the way through and cut it in little pieces. i don't believe there are any risks to giving it to a child. it's just like chicken or beef.
At the same age as trying any other properly prepared food ... and probably with the same reaction ... YUK, I hate it or you might get lucky and they liked it! Either way they will let YOU know if it works ...
congrats your husband is a murderer! why not push that on your children, nice parenting!
