Deer tick head still embedded near cats eye...?

When I removed it, it was teeny tiny, and did not move, I assumed it was dead, but upon closer examination realised I hadn't got the head out, Its right underhis eye in the corner, too close to suffocate w/ peanut butter or anything... I put neosporin over it, but cat wiped it all off. What should I do? Will my cat die of lime disease?Deer tick head still embedded near cats eye...?
Deer ticks are just so small, they're hard to get a good grab on.

Phone your vet, tell them you got a tick off your cat but the head is still under the cat's skin and it's near the eye. They'll tell you what to do.

Put a dab more of neosporin on, though. If the tick was carrying Lyme disease, then it could spread it, but not all ticks do. The cat can get a blood test in a few months to check for that. There's an antibiotic treatment that is used with cats to clear it up (just like in people).

So call the vet, if you have any qualms, call another vet and talk to them too about it. Getting the head out AT the vets would entail digging into the wound, which may not be the best thing. Usually the surface is just watched to see that the head is ejected before the skin heals over. That way there's no infection trapped under the skin to fester.Deer tick head still embedded near cats eye...?
I'd take your cat to the vet. They'll probably test it for Lyme disease once they get it out, bc you can't tell just by looking at it. Either way though, you should take her to the vet. She could get an infection and still get sick. Good luck.
I agree with Sandra....they have special tools and know how to remove it, especially with it being near her eye you don't want to take any chances.
