Would you pick up a deer that was hit by a car and get it processed to eat?

My neighbor was SO excited this morning b/c her hubby's friend hit a deer and called him to come get it. SO he tagged it and is going to gut it in his garage so he can gut it then take it to get it processed at the meat market. I SAY SICK!!!Would you pick up a deer that was hit by a car and get it processed to eat?
that's just sick! cuz since it was hit most of the meat off of it it destroyed. if the person had a tag...he shoulda went out and shot a deer...it's actually illegal to do something like that...ur suppose to turn it into the local game fish and parks office or local game warden!Would you pick up a deer that was hit by a car and get it processed to eat?

Not sick... but there's gonna be a lot of bruised meat that you cant eat and you gotta cut the stink glands off pretty quick or all the meat will make you sick
If it is fresh ';kill'; I don't see a reason why the meat should go to waste. It is done all the time here in Michigan, too.
I have. Had a deer jump out in front of my truck, killed my truck so I ate it.

no i would not do that.......when a deer is hit by a car it puts off some kind of toxins in the meat making it very bad for you. they really should not eat that, redneck or not!!! there are lots of rednecks where i live too and i have never known anyone to actually do that

There is nothing at all wrong with that. As long as its a recent kill and relatively clean (aka not smeared all over or in bits) The processing will take care of anything undesirable just like when it's killed with a bullet. I had a friend that used to scan for transmissions for police band calls to remove dead deer after auto accidents and try to beat them for the free meat.

Deer that are hit and killed in the state where I live, are under the control of the conservation officers, not the police. You have to be on a list with them to receive the deer. If no one responds to the call then the deer is donated. Orphanage, institution of some kind.

What do you think people ate when this country was formed? If it was a clean kill good for them. That's part of being green!! If you saw cattle processed and treated with chemicals you wouldn't touch store bought meat!!
You may call them rednecks, I call them resourceful. Letting that meat go to waste is, well, a waste. I don't know the first thing about processing a deer, but if there's minimal bruising and they can get it on ice soon enough, they are helping be less wasteful and probably saving $ on meat.
