Can you shoot a deer behind the left shoulder and not hit vitals?

i shot htis buck today and i saw the arrow bury flrtching deep low behind the front shoulder i let him go for about 45 mins and started traking found some blood but not a whole lot figured since the arrow didn't pass through thats why no blood i jumped the buck about 100 yards he didn't run but just walked away couldn't smell me wind was in my face i backed out slow as he walked slowly away i went home hoping to find him in the morning. so what do ya think broadside shot from a treestand about 20 feet up deer was up hill alittle at a distance of about 25 yards. i know i saw that arrow bury fletching deep. Can you shoot a deer behind the left shoulder and not hit vitals?
Could be that because your shooting out of a treestand that your arrow may have passed below the vitals and embedded in the opposite leg. You would have very little blood trail. Can you shoot a deer behind the left shoulder and not hit vitals?
if u hit him low u might have missed the lungs or the arrow could be blocking the blood from pouring out. he might still be alive in the morning so you might want to put a shot into him with a rifle if he is there still. hope you find him!!!!! happy hunting!!!
very possible to have missed the vitals especially if it was a downward shot or a shot at more of a front to back angle
No.* All Deer do not always die the same, or all at the same time.* Its a very individual event for each animal.*
