If it were not for hunting and natural selection combined. Many and or most would eventually get diseased and die off completely. Happened in our area about 15 yrs ago. Game %26amp; wildlife came in and downed untolled numbers of white-tail deer. Then within about 5 yrs. they were back and healthy.
No, as long as you are doing it for food and not just killing them for sport. As far back as we go people have hunted and eaten animals to survive. There is a huge difference between survival and cruelty. There are animals who eat other animals and no one has a problem with that. I love animals ... but I also love me a really good steak! Mmmm.

Not cruel, but I do know a few morons who like to kill things just for the hell of it. I'm great with a rifle yet don't hunt, only because I don't have a need to.

Yes, I do. They claim it is to keep them from overpopulating, but if humans would quit invading all the open spaces and building on them, the animals would have plenty to eat.

But in order for the population to stay stable and not get overpopulated they must be killed. THAT is why it's legal. The government wouldn't allow it if it wasn't nessasary.
No. Hunting is actually necessary to keep the populations down. Nobody wants deer running thru the streets of their towns.
