doubleu double u doubleu youtube.com/watch?v=gDL--ZQs8G4 deer wasted by car. They even do this in broad daylight. Why do deer run into cars? Why do deer run in front of (or into) moving vehicles?
Many animals, including Deer, and especially at night, are at the side of the road for some reason like they want to cross or they're eating the vegetation that grows well on the roadside. When a car approaches sometimes the animal gets very frightened and confused and will dash out in the ';wrong'; direction, and 'into'; the oncoming traffic.
This is just one more example of man's inability to learn to live ';with'; nature instead of against it. We MUST learn of a way to ';prevent'; animals from crossing busy roads. Regular fences won't do it because they can leap over or crawl under. Maybe harmless electric wires are the answer. But if we don't solve this problem, many animals will suffer because of it and maybe even go extinct because of our roads. Why do deer run in front of (or into) moving vehicles?
By the time an animal say the deer realizes that they are being threatened its to late. The speed of the vehicle and the withed of the road nearly make it impossible for them to escape. The old saying (always look ahead before you leap) goes the same for driving its up to you to look ahead and take the necessary precautions. try jumping out of the way with a 70 mile per hour car coming Straight at you. Sometimes its because they really don't know whats coming at them so fast and they are curious. Curiosity kills the cat
Nothing in their world moves faster than they do. So they are completely confused and unable to cope with cars that are relatively quiet and move so quickly. The headlights at night make it even more difficult for them to know what to do.
Deer are not used to fast objects coming directly at them. It's not in their evolution to know what a car is. Same reason why you see squashed squirrels, rabbits, skunks, and opossums.
