Anyone ever hunt deer in zone d-14. What are some goof spots out there. I plan on getting a left over tag out there so im looking for a good spot to find me a decent buck. Any help?California deer hunting?
D-14 isn't the greatest for deer hunting. I live in So Cal and raised my kids camping in the San Bernadino Nat'l forest. There's plenty of area but being right in the middle of so much civilization has really affected the deer herd. Get a Nat'l forest map and look at the area out of Fawnskin. Take road 3N16, it takes you toward the desert. Check out Little Pine Flats, Muddy Springs, Carbine Flats, Hawes Ranch. I've seen some decent bucks back in there. I think the season goes into mid Nov. I'd go at the end. Good Luck, I'll be in Wyoming doing some real deer hunting.California deer hunting?
Go out %26amp; scout it a couple of times before hunting season.
Look for scrapes %26amp; hoof prints. Take a look at the Code Blue %26amp; Tree Lounge hunting vids %26amp; others...lots of free info out there.
You can get nice maps from Google Earth that can show trails where the deer likely roam.
Once you set up your tree stand...do NOT leave it for lunch. Sit up there from dawn to dusk...eat MRE's one item at a time...and bring plenty of water...and be SUPER QUIET. Whiz in a bottle, not on the tree, they'll smell it.
Good Luck!!
use an infrared game camera, does it suck to live in gun oppressed california, there are absolutely no gun laws in vermont, i love it, and our crime rate is SLIGHTLY lower than yours, and your crime rate got higher with every additional gun law
I don't know about California. But here in Iowa, we have 1,000's of deer. They are everywhere, it's ridiculous. I would say come to Iowa and shoot a monster buck.
nope
