180 is a good round.... but 150 also works..... ya don't need a big heavy bullet for deer...... the 150 will shoot alittle flatter..but in a 300 your not going to be shootin 500 yds anyhow.....How can I get factory ammo for a .300 Savage? Which is better for deer, 150 gr. or 180 gr.?
I always use 180's.*How can I get factory ammo for a .300 Savage? Which is better for deer, 150 gr. or 180 gr.?
Try the Outdoors Super Store for .300 Savage ammo. They're on-line (just enter key words: outdoorsuperstore.com on any good internet search engine %26amp; click on 'ammunition' in the second column for the .300 Savage loadings). For deer the 150 grain round will do fine.
The .300 Savage is sort of a 'shortened .30-06,' so the 150 grainers are fine for deer and the heavier 180 grain rounds are better like for Black bear, boar and such.
Good luck.

Try the .150, you don't need so much gun power for a deer, also you don't want to make a bigger hole on his skin, cause you want the skin for your livin room don't you?
contact the factory...1 800 duh duh
