first timetrying this live out in the countryHow do i use atlers to bring deer in?
It's called ';rattling'; and simulates the sound of two bucks fighting. It can be a very effective techique from attracting large bucks.
Hold one antler in each hand and bang them together so the tines intermesh. Twist your wrists back and forth so the tines bang against each other making a rattling sound.
Practice a little before going hunting and you'll get it down quick enough. How do i use atlers to bring deer in?
Intermingle both beams together and move them in opposite directions until you get what sounds like a ';racking sound';. Basically bang them together.
Something else you can try is cutting down both a round piece and square piece of woodstock(3' long each, 3/4'; in diameter) into 6'; pieces. Should give you a total of about twelve. then place them inside one of your old tube socks and cutoff the sock about 2'; above top of the stocks. Wiretie the sock closed. Then try rolling the stocks together, inside the sock, between your hands.Should give you almost the same identical sound and a heck of alot safer to pack around with you over antlers.
funny but nobody's answering this....I dont think it's a dumb question since I've never tried it my self.Out where I hunt there's so many deer that you have to fight them off with a stick. You'll be driving down the road and a deer will jump out yellin' take me Jeremiah, Take me!! Personally, I'd use them horns fer knife handles and flint knappers and such......
yes smack them together and give them a rattling and use a grunt call it work esp. if you have two people one rattling and one on guard ,, WATCH THOSE SORE FINGERS OK,,,,,,thanks eddie
Softly rattle them together. And also rub them against each other. Rub them against a log.
