Hunting deer with a .410 break barrel shotgun?

I have a 410 single shot shotgun and want to go hunting with it so i bought a box of slugs but i didnt know their was a 410 bolt action rifle. will the shotgun be ok to to shoot slugs out of it and will it be ok to hunt with? Hunting deer with a .410 break barrel shotgun?
To answer your question truthfully, I shot a ten point buck my first year, first day, of the second season in Minnesota with a .410 break action single shot, and a 3 inch slug. The main reason for the fixed full choke is because the .410 shell doesn't carry much shot in it and it's better to keep in a tighter pattern. The slugs are not really affected by this, however, using rifled slugs is a better choice. There are some .410 now that are designed for deer hunting and have rifled barrels. They come in single, bolt, and pump action. I have seen a couple semi autos that had just a bird barrel like most. Good luckHunting deer with a .410 break barrel shotgun?
You need to make sure the gun is either Improved Cylinder or Cylinder Bore. If it is a medium or full choke, shooting slugs could damage it. Also, a .410 can be chambered for either 2.5'; or 3'; shells, and you need to make sure you have a 3'; chamber if you have 3'; loads, or the barrel could literally burst.

Lastly, you need to keep your shots to 25-30 yards max. with a .410. It's really under powered for deer.

You'd be much better off buying a used .243 for deer season. Best of luck.
The bolt action 410's usually have a full choke and you can't use slugs in them. The break barrel works fine. ****WARNING***** DO NOT LOAD YOUR GUN UNTIL YOU ARE IN THE DEER STAND. There has been more than one kid drop a loaded shot gun and the hammer hit (not ******), go off and kill them..
The .410 with slugs should be fine for deer hunting, but I would definitely feel much more confident with a bigger bored shotgun like a 20 or even a 12 gauge. But a well placed shot with your .410 will get the job done if that's all you have to use.
Depending on the choke, it should probably be OK to shoot slugs out of your 410, but I'm at a loss as to what you'd shoot them at, since it's simply not enough to use for deer.
A .410 is to small in my opinion. Many states have a 20 guage minimum.
sure, the action of the gun doesnt hinder the ammo you can shoot
It should be fine, But I think you should go with a bigger guage...like a 20 or a 12
