Is BARRETT 98 Bravo .338 Lapua good for deer hunting?

?? if not tell me some gun that would b good for hunting. Is BARRETT 98 Bravo .338 Lapua good for deer hunting?
Are the deer where you live gonna shoot back? Thats like using a sledgehammer to drive a pushpin.

Have you seen how expensive those rounds are???

Get yourself a nice .30-30, .30-06 or a .270 and be like normal hunters. Well, we arent normal at all but.....Is BARRETT 98 Bravo .338 Lapua good for deer hunting?
ya sure a .338 lapua is great for killing deer but so is a atom bomb!
Sure, shell out your $4495 plus tax and ammo and set up anywhere. Any deer within a mile is fair game.
Sounds like a horrendously expensive way to go about it.

If you're not too damned lazy read a few of the questions that have already been answered. You won't get too far before your second question gets answered... probably more than a couple of times.

IOW that question has already been asked and answered to DEATH.
Yeah, good choice... if it comes with a sherpa to carry it around for you and the deer you are hunting are moose. I was going to buy one myself but I used the money to buy a house instead.
Good day!

I recommend going with something like a .308, .30-30, .270, or a .30-06. Any of these will work good for you! A .338 Lapua is a bit overkill and expensive. I'd be worried about what's beyond your target if you miss or the bullet goes through the target.

Cabela's (Canada) sells a Remington #770 for $430 with calibres ranging from .243 Win. - .300 Win. Mag. A model #700 is a step up in price and quality for $700+

Have fun hunting and great day!
Reread the answers you received 5 months ago with your question ';Is sniper rifles[...]'; Crisysue said it well then and everyone else is saying the same thing now.
no

too heavy to tote

too expensive

too much meat damage

For deer hunting?

Option #1 Marlin 336 in 30-30

Option #2 Remington 700 in 270 winchester
a .338 is more of a moose round than a deer round. For deer, consider the following:

Short Range ~ 12ga shot gun, 30/30, 7.62x39, .270, 7mm-08, .25-06

Medium Range ~ .270, .25-06, 7mm-08, .260, .280, .308, 7mm, 30-06

Long Range ~ 30-06, .308, 7mm Mag, .300 Mag
Yea, it would most definitely be overkill.

Why are you so hell-bent on these outrageous calibers? They're expensive, noisy, and harsh on your body.

Get a gently used .30-30.
