Dogs are pack animals and they probably consider you one of the pack members with whom they are in competition with for the attention of the alpha female, the leader, your mom. She is the one who provides the food, probably makes and enforces the rules and they see you as a member of the pack. They might be confused about your role in the pack since you are also lead by the pack leader but you probably also get affection not given to a normal pack member so they might be a little threatened by you. You need to establish yourself as a dominant member of the pack. You need to be firm but loving, self assured, stand up tall and speak firmly. Don't get scared or jump away as they will think that is a weakness. Get chances to feed them and try to put your smell on the food or the bowls so they understand its comign from you. If you want to learn more about how to communicate with dogs check out The Dog Whisperer either on TV or on the internet. Remember dogs aren't people, they see the world differently than us. Good luck!No matter how nice i am to my 3year old deer chihuahuah she still growls at me shes very attatched to my mom?
awww, well most dogs don't like to be picked up which is why she runs away...your right about the feeding...feed her some of the time and she'l' love you more...also play with her and use her toys
Ok,your dog is attached to your mother because she feels she is the pack leader instead of u or your mom. So to her your mom is her ';property'; n she has to protect it. If u dont walk your dog for at least 20 minutes,3 times a week then she will bahave badly because shes not physically and mentaslly excersised. And wutever you do DO NOT give her kisses or treats. ONLY reward her when she has achieved a trick or obstacle like sitting on command,im a dog phsycologist taught from ceaser millan.
