No, it is not a good choice unless your deer is very far away. High magnification will limit your field of view. It will also make your crosshairs appear very shaky unless you could find a solid rest which might not be available. Generally speaking, 4x magnification is more than enough for deer hunting. I prefer 1.75-4x scopes and I rarely use magnifications greater than 3x on big games. Is a Leupold 4.5-14x50 a good power for deer hunting or not?
That's a lot of scope for deer. Especially if your shots are close (100-200yds). Too much magnification for the average person and the objective is huge (50mm). I like variable lower power like 1-4x or find that a good 2-7x32 does the trick for just about everything. Is a Leupold 4.5-14x50 a good power for deer hunting or not?
If you already have it, use it, but for all but really long shots, it'd probably be better to use a less powerful one, like a 3-9.
It is a great scope for deer if you are needing extra long shots like out west. For eastern deer you don't need that much scope and can get away with a cheaper model.
That would be a long range scope. You would need to ask the sales person to match a scope to your rifle caliber %26amp; stock.
It should be more than adequate.
oh absolutely
That is a fine scope for deer. Have fun
